Job Description
The Universität Bern is seeking a highly skilled bioinformatics and biostatistics expert to join its team. As a staff scientist, you will be responsible for performing and further developing bioinformatic data analysis, including NGS data workflow, database curation, and reporting. You will also provide statistical support for process validation and automation in the accredited microbiology diagnostic department.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement bioinformatics pipelines for NGS data analysis
- Develop and maintain databases for storing and retrieving bioinformatics data
- Provide statistical support for process validation and automation
- Collaborate with researchers and clinicians to identify areas for bioinformatics support
Requirements
- Postgraduate degree in bioinformatics or a related field
- Relevant work experience in NGS data analysis and Unix systems
- Advanced scripting skills in languages such as R, Python, or Perl
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Fluency in German and English
