Job DescriptionAs a Veterinary Research Scientist, you will conduct animal experiments in transition dairy cows and neonatal calves, analyze blood and milk samples, perform mathematical and statistical evaluations, prepare manuscripts for publications in international peer-reviewed journals, and develop a doctoral thesis (Dr. med. vet.).

To be successful in this role, you will have a Master's degree or equivalent in veterinary medicine, a strong interest in research related to farm animals, and previous exposure to in-vivo work would be advantageous.
You should also possess strong language skills in German, French, and English, as well as social competence to work with farmers and international scientists.

The Veterinary Physiology group at the Vetsuisse Faculty of the University of Bern is an internationally recognized group with high-impact research in the field of mammary gland physiology of dairy cows.
Major research topics include the endocrine control of lactation, adaptation of metabolism and immune system, colostrum formation, transition dairy cow and neonatal calf health, and animal-technology interactions.
SalaryWe estimate the salary for this position to be around CHF 60,000 - 80,000 per year, depending on your qualifications and experience.
