We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join our research group at Universität Bern. Our team is dedicated to understanding the complex relationships between plant stomatal biology and climate change.
**About the Project**
Our research focuses on the wild model grass Brachypodium distachyon, investigating the diversity of stomatal anatomy and function in response to different temperatures. We aim to identify genetic players regulating stomatal anatomy and function using genome-wide association studies and determine accession-specific phenotypic plasticity.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Phenotyping a natural diversity panel of Brachypodium distachyon for differences in stomatal anatomy and function
- Experience in quantitative plant phenotyping, plant genetics, light microscopy, and computational image analysis is required
- Conducting genome-wide association studies and modeling photosynthesis and water use based on anatomical parameters
- Testing different genotypes in future climate scenarios
