Global Sourcing Manager Logistics Expert

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Sourcing Manager Logistics to join our team at Medela. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for monitoring and managing logistics and capital expenditure (Capex) to optimize costs and processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive category strategy for logistics (international and domestic inbound/outbound, LCL and FCL ocean, LTL and FTL land, air, parcel and warehousing services) and Capex (buildings & property, manufacturing equipment including upgrades)
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers, negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure favorable agreements
  • Conduct supplier performance evaluations and implement improvement plans as necessary
  • Lead the sourcing and procurement activities for logistics and Capex, including identifying potential suppliers, conducting RFIs/RFPs, evaluating proposals, and selecting vendors
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with logistics and Capex categories, develop contingency plans to ensure business continuity
  • Stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices to proactively address potential risks
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to monitor the performance of logistics and Capex categories, prepare and present regular reports to management
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field
  • Familiarity with sourcing and procurement strategies, contract negotiation, and supplier management
  • Strong knowledge of logistics and transportation processes, as well as capital expenditure planning and management
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to logistics and Capex is beneficial
