Postdoctoral Researcher in Tumor Immunology

We are seeking a highly motivated and self-disciplined postdoctoral researcher to join our team at the Universität Bern. The successful candidate will work on a cutting-edge project focused on the comprehensive analysis of the tumor micro-environment in pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC).
Key Responsibilities- Conduct high-dimensional immunophenotyping of PDAC tissues using advanced imaging mass cytometry (IMC) techniques.
- Perform transcriptomic analyses, including single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) and spatial transcriptomics.
- Analyze the relationships between the immune microenvironment, tumor mutational burden, and clinical outcomes.
- Design and perform in vivo experiments using murine models to assess the efficacy and mechanisms of novel treatments.
- Supervise and mentor graduate and undergraduate students in the lab.
- Assist in writing grant proposals and securing research funding.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of researchers, clinicians, and bioinformaticians.
- Prepare and present research findings at scientific conferences and in peer-reviewed journals.
- PhD in a relevant field, such as Cancer Biology or Immunology.
- Strong background in tumor immunology and/or cancer research.
- Experience with high-dimensional data analysis, including transcriptomics and/or imaging mass cytometry.
- Proficiency in bioinformatics and statistical analysis tools, such as R or Python.
- Highly motivated and self-disciplined with excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience with immunology and cancer research.
- Knowledge of immunotherapy and its application in cancer treatment.
- Familiarity with clinical data integration and high-dimensional data analysis.
