The Institute of Cell Biology at Universität Bern invites applications for support of an SNSF Starting Grant application. The successful candidate will complement our research activities in exploring modern, fundamental questions in biology.
Research ThemesThe current research themes of the Institute of Cell Biology are:
- Cell Biology
- Developmental Biology
- Systems Biology and Genomics
- Molecular Parasitology
The candidate will be provided with infrastructure support and space to establish a fully equipped laboratory. We also offer a contribution towards personnel costs.
We provide access to in-house state-of-the-art microscopy facilities, resources for computational analysis, and biosafety facilities. Members of the Institute of Cell Biology have access to core facilities of the University of Bern, including NGS and proteomics platforms.
We welcome a diversity of model systems. However, we do not have resources to support extensive research using vertebrate animals.
Your ProfileTo be eligible for this position, you should have:
- A track record showcasing 2 to 8 years of post-PhD research experience
- Previous research affiliation or degree from a Swiss institution, or Swiss nationality
- Excellent research portfolio showing the ability to establish an independent and internationally competitive line of research
- Demonstration of potential for synergy with, and complementation of the current research directions of the Institute of Cell Biology
