Forum Foundations Partnerships and Communications Manager

The World Economic Forum, committed to improving the state of the world, is the international organization for public-private cooperation.

The Forum engages the foremost political, business and other leaders of society to shape global, regional and industry agendas.

The Forum Foundations team is comprised of The Global Shapers Community and The Forum of Young Global Leaders. Both foundations, each with their own distinct model and programming, bring together next-generation leaders, innovators and changemakers from across the globe.

The Global Shapers Community is a network of inspiring young people under the age of 30 working together to address local, regional and global challenges. The community includes more than 14,000 members and alumni in over 150 countries and territories.

The Forum of Young Global Leaders (YGLs) is a community of exceptional people with the vision, courage, and influence to drive change in the world. Our growing membership of more than 1,400 members and alumni from 120 nationalities includes civic and business innovators, entrepreneurs, technology pioneers, educators, artists, and activists.

The Forum Foundations team is currently seeking a Partnerships and Communications Manager based in Geneva.

Reporting Lines & Interactions

Reporting to the Head of the Forum Foundations and working closely with the Head of the Global Shapers Community and the Head of the Forum of Young Global Leaders, the Partnerships and Communications Manager is responsible for developing and implementing fundraising and communications strategies to meet the Foundations’ long-term revenue and community impact goals.

Main Responsibilities

Partnership Development- Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a diverse base of individual, corporate and foundation donors- Create strategies to identify and secure new individual supporters, fully leverage existing relationships, increase multi-year commitments, and maintain or elevate current commitments- Identify and develop in-kind partnerships with a select group of NGOs with content expertise related to the Foundations’ impact areas- Identify strategies and opportunities to best engage board, community, and team members in partnership development- Collect and report on achievements and impacts to forge partnerships, increase engagement and renew and sustain funding relationships- Oversee recognition and stewardship program for donors including the implementation of procedures for processing and acknowledging gifts

Communications- Work closely with the heads of The Global Shapers Community and The Forum of Young Global Leaders to understand priorities in order to present clear information to donors, potential partners, and external audiences- Curate content for social media, the Foundations’ websites, Agenda blogs, annual reports and partnership development materials- Provide oversight for internal communications including newsletters, event materials and community content on the Forum´s digital collaboration and knowledge platform - TopLink- Distil information into a simple, clear message using examples, stories, and community information that resonate with donors and potential partners- Develop and implement a comprehensive year-round communications plan to keep supporters and partners informed and engaged- Draft communications for the Leadership Team, including thought leadership, speeches, and board meeting agendas- Ability to secure funding and in-kind contributions for a diverse range of partners- Stewardship of donors and partners- Sourcing and creation of quality content for donor materials, social media, and reports- Productive and positive engagement within The Global Shapers and The Forum of Young Global Leaders teams

Preferred Requirements and Experience- Bachelor’s degree required and master's degree preferred- 5-8 years of professional experience, including roles with nonprofit fundraising and marketing; experience working with or in leadership development or youth serving organizations a plus- Proven track record of raising funds from diverse sources, including major gifts from individuals, foundations and corporations- Experience communicating with both internal and external audiences of varying levels of seniority- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to problem solve and think critically in a fast-paced environment- Outstanding verbal and written language skills in English; other languages an asset- Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs and familiarity with donor tracking systems- Results-focused, highly organized self-starter who works effectively with others and independently- Excellent strategic planning and project management skills
