The Global Communications Group is the central Forum team dedicated to communications with the public, media, stakeholders and staff in relation to the Forum’s mission. Through multiple channels, the Group is responsible for communicating the work of the Forum and its constituents, reaching, growing, engaging and inspiring diverse and interested audiences.

Why we are recruiting

The Group is expanding and consolidating its strategy. It is composed of four key functions: Communication Strategy and Coordination, Public Engagement, Media Engagement, and Stakeholder and Staff Engagement. It is searching for an Internal Communications Lead within the Stakeholder and Staff Engagement unit, to support the crafting, development and successful implementation of the Forum’s internal communications strategy.

Reporting Lines & Interactions

The role will report to the Head of Stakeholder and Staff Engagement. Internally, it will liaise within the Global Communications Group and across the organization - particularly with the People & Culture team. Externally, it might liaise on an occasional basis with consultants and/or service providers.

Key responsibilities
- Support the development of a compelling internal communications strategy, to ensure all staff members across all Forum geographies are regularly informed and engaged into the Forum’s activities and broader mission.
- Implement this global strategy by developing and deploying relevant content and materials for key internal communication channels.
- Support rapid access to internal knowledge repositories and relevant policy material, as well as clear, timely and effective communication of internal changes.
- Identify and remain at the forefront of emerging trends relating to the breadth of topics covered by the Forum’s work as well as best practices in communications, to inform and refine the Forum’s internal communications strategy.
- Serve as a trusted member of the Global Communications Group team, developing trusted internal relationships across the team and the organization.
- Clear, relevant and timely communications to Forum staff, across all geographies, delivered through multiple channels and leading to increased awareness and engagement into the organization’s activities and overall mission.
- Strong internal relationships across the Global Communications Group and broader organization, enabling for smooth and effective delivery of the internal communications strategy.
- Effective management and coordination of long-term (knowledge repositories, internal policy documents, etc) and short-term (organizational changes, upcoming events, etc) messaging.
- Ability to collaborate efficiently and transparently within the team and across the organization as a strong team player, particularly with the People & Culture team
- Strong understanding of the Forum’s mission and impact.
- Keeping abreast of relevant issues, developments, initiatives, and stakeholders pertinent to the Forum’s mission and impact-related work; ongoing learning of the latest communication practices and tools.
- Ability to treat confidential information with discretion.
- Fluency in the use of internal and external digital platforms, strong project management, and internal and external relationship management.
- Represent effectively the Forum internally and externally where applicable, in interactions with media and external constituents, as well as at institutional events.

Required qualifications:

- 7+ years of relevant work experience in corporate communications, marketing and/or HR
- Previous experience or strong interest in effectively engaging internal audiences through the implementation and operationalization of successful outreach strategies
- Knowledge of internal communications principles and strategies and understanding of organizational change management principles.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with proven track record in building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including leadership
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency in other languages a valued asset.
