What you’ll do
The Global Market Development Manager position is an exciting opportunity to drive a global innovation strategy focused on growing the DSM position in functional ingredients used in pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical processes. This role will be responsible for the sub
- segment business results, launching new innovation products, orchestrating activity with regional segment leads, and managing internal and external stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities
Together with the global and multifunctional team drives DSM’s business with strategic customers to achieve significant business results.
Achieve or exceed financial and business performance goals while also demonstrating behaviors consistent with the DSM Culture Compass.
Work with regional segment managers to gain buy-in and ownership of the Market penetration strategy for each region.
Lead through influence, secure the cross-functional resources necessary to provide strategic guidance and results driven mindset.
Develop/ leverage business tools, and ensure use and compliance by the broader global team to ensure DSM delivers against its representations.
Regular reporting to line management, and ad hoc to HLT/other stakeholders.
Measure performance (P&L, Sales, GPx, market share, scorecards, etc.) and initiate actions to mitigate gaps/leverage opportunities.
Outline an aspirational vision and develop a comprehensive, but pragmatic, strategic plan, updated annually, that is supported and approved by line management and effectively implemented.
Ensure development and implementation of regional go to market plans which are aligned with the global strategy.
Build pipeline with strategic customers.
Develop relationships and touchpoints across functions and regions, identify key stakeholders and decision-makers.
Understand the global value drivers and develop sub-segment value proposition.
Test value proposition and use voice-of-customer (VOC) feedback loop to enhance DSM offering to sub-segment
You bring
University degree in business and/or technical, MBA desired, but not mandatory if strong track record in customer management is available.
Excellent understanding of pharma customer’s business segment and activities, including the pharma drug development process and/or value chain.
7+ years of Marketing, Sales, or Business Development experience, preferably in regulated markets.
Exceptional leadership skills and able to orchestrate multifunctional resources. Commercially very savvy and experienced
Good written and oral communication skills
