**MAIN PURPOSE**

As Maison Lead Intellectual Property Counsel, your role is to provide comprehensive intellectual property legal advice to selected Maison(s), covering a wide range of contentious and non-contentious matters, and to provide effective IP protection (save for patents) to the Maison(s).

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**

In coordination with other dedicated members of the IP Team (namely patents and anti-counterfeiting) providing the selected Maison(s) with ongoing effective strategy in respect of its intellectual property portfolio, taking into account change of priorities, competitive landscape and budgetary constraints and constantly reviewing potential avenues for enhancing intellectual property protection tools according to what each local legal environment allows and learning from best practices across the IP Team..

Reviewing all new collections, products and IP-related projects and providing IP clearance checks where necessary; identifying and ensuring appropriate IP protection (designs, copyrights or other) is implemented; advising on design, copyright and trademark prosecution; managing portfolio surveillance and opposition matters; overseeing the blockchain dating process of new creations, inventions and trade secrets in close coordination with operational teams.

Reviewing and advising the Maison(s) on all IP-related agreements with third parties, including, inter alia, external designers, photographers, agencies, start-ups, metaverse platforms, etcto secure all necessary IP and associated rights including image rights, celebrity/personality rights etc... In close collaboration with the patent team, negotiating and drafting research and development agreements to support the innovation teams.

Advising the Maison(s) on all communication and PR materials and events and clearing all materials thereto related, across print, internet and social media etc

Providing regular training programmes to the various operational teams within the selected Maison(s) on issues relating to confidentiality and the preservation and legal protection of intellectual property.

Managing the allocated IP budget to ensure appropriate cost tracking measures are in place and providing quarterly reports on spend to the selected Maison(s) according to the team templates.

The applicant will be able to demonstrate specialised and expert professional skills and embrace a high-achieving and challenging business environment dedicated to delivering best-in-class IP service.

Attribution of Maisons will change from time to time to widen scope of experience of the applicant, provide new challenges and respond to Maisons’ new needs. The applicant will need to be flexible and prepared to accept, work with and exploit change as opportunities for the business with a team-spirited mind.

**Requirements**:

- 10 years minimum professional experience as IP counsel in a multinational company and/or similar experience in a law firm for the benefit of multinational clients with experience in both IP prosecution and litigation matters; a mixed experience of private practice and inhouse is a plus
- University degree in Law with a specialisation in IP (Intellectual / Industrial Property)
- Bar exam qualification
- Excellent team player
- Autonomous and able to lead projects
- Analytical, pragmatic, problem solver

**Fluent English** **and French** **are a must**
