In addition, you will be responsible for all phases of sourcing that require the skills necessary to identify cost saving opportunities, create competitive environments, creatively negotiate, and assure seamless availability of all products to support the organization. **What does the role involve?**:
The Strategic Category Manager acts as a real “Sparring partner” to the Head of Supply Consumables. The scope of activities is broad and can touch different areas, such as the overall BU’s supply footprint and communications to Hilti’s Management.

Key tasks include:
2) Align and implement purchasing strategies with key stakeholders (business unit cross-function, regional organization, Plant etc.)

3) Internal consultant to management team, to optimize holistic supply chain challenges across the organization and develop solutions in complex strategic projects

4) Analyse industry trends and evolving technology to proactively identify supply base issues, minimizing risk, protect continuity of supply, and utilize emerging opportunities

5) Manage the purchasing tasks of projects (new product development / technical projects) to support the BU roadmap Manage and lead COGS (cost reduction) projects to ensure the cost leadership globally

**What you need is**:

- You have a Graduation in Engineering and/or Business Administration with deep technical expertise
- You bring a minimum 3+ years’ experience in a purchasing/strategic sourcing
- You bring significant experience working in international strategic sourcing projects, including but not limited to prior consulting assignments.
- You have proven experience in project management to establish clear goals and accountabilities to ensure successful delivery (on time, within budget, meeting agreed upon success criteria) for your stakeholders
- You have outstanding analytical skills linked with conceptual thinking capabilities.
- You have experience in execution as well as maintain day to day contact with suppliers
- You are adept in negotiation management (including researching and anticipating shifts in the negotiating power of suppliers)
- You have Proven capability in managing strategic supply topics (including advanced Purchasing methodologies)
- You are fluent in English (verbally and written) with excellent communication skills. Additional languages are a plus.
