**ABOUT US**

The WHO Foundation (WHOF), launched in May 2020 and headquartered in Geneva, was created as an independent Swiss foundation affiliated with but independent of WHO. Its mission is to mobilize greater private capital and partnership to advance the mission of the World Health Organization (WHO), enabling catalytic impact on the people whose lives rely on WHO’s work and facilitating innovation to maximize the impact of the resources we invest.

WHOF was therefore created as an independent Swiss foundation affiliated with but independent of WHO to marshal new resources from philanthropists, foundations, businesses, and individuals to support its mission: promote health, keep the world safe, and serve the vulnerable, while protecting the neutrality and independence of WHO as the world’s leading health authority. WHOF is a nexus for unique opportunities in global health, facilitating game-changing opportunities between the private sector and WHO. Our focus is on mobilizing grant income, shared value partnerships, and investment to power WHO’s work.

**PURPOSE**

The Director, People & Culture ensures the overall provision of a high-level standard of People & Culture initiatives and services, notably by defining, implementing and overseeing the whole People & Culture strategy for WHOF, in close collaboration with the COO and the leadership team, and promoting a work culture based on the core values of the organization.

**REPORTS TO**
The Director, People & Culture will directly report to the COO of WHOF.

**ACCOUNTABILITIES & FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Develop and implement a People & Culture strategy and roadmap for WHOF, to support the organization’s strategic objectives and work culture
- Develop and implement, in collaboration with the relevant stakeholders, a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion culture and framework for WHOF, to reflect its values and its ambition to be a truly diverse and global organization
- Support and enable the Executive Team in a fast-paced scale up and growth process, to design an exceptional Employee Experience
- Propose, develop and implement high-level projects, policies and initiatives across all fields of Talent Management (i.e. Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits, Succession Planning, Learning & Development)
- Supervise, provide guidance and support to the People & Culture team and across all the foundation
- Support Talent Acquisition related projects and initiatives
- Provide support and guidance to the Executive Team and the Management Team, build capacity on all people related topics (i.e. Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits, Succession Planning, Learning & Development) and track innovation in the People & Culture field, including agile management approaches
- Develop and monitor key People & Culture metrics aligned with the strategic vision of the foundation
- Maintain and report on workplace health and safety compliance
- Conduct and review exit interviews for all employees/consultants leaving the organization
- Deal with workplace or employee issues and conflicts and assist in resolution
- Act as an internal change agent and ensure activities are supportive of the desired culture

**PROFILE**
- A degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, Organizational development or any equivalent qualification (work experience, certificates, etc.).
- Have at least 10 years’ relevant experience in a management position leading People & Culture strategy, people development, and labor relations.
- Several years of international experience and global exposure, significant working or lived experience outside of Europe and North America (Latin America, Africa, the Middle East or Asia).
- Fluency in English (excellent verbal and writing skills) is essential, French is a plus.
- Strong knowledge and expertise in modern and agile approaches of Talent Management and organizational development.
- Must have demonstrable expertise in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion policy formulation and implementation of related initiatives.
- Excellent combination of being strategic as well as hands-on as and when required.
- Strong people and interpersonal skills, able to interact with and influence senior management.
- Outstanding customer service skills and strong team player with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
- Flexible and adaptable.
- Excellent judgment, tact, and diplomacy.
- Comfort with and/or experience of operating in a lean, fast-paced, scale-up environment.
