**Global Head of Strategy and M&A for Energy Industries (flexible location)**:

In this role you will lead the Strategy and M&A function and you will have a critical impact on the long-term success of the division. The role is open globally, but location is set in ABB Offices with European timezones.

**This position reports to**:
VP Offering & Strategy

**Your responsibilities**:

- Lead the division strategy function and team
- Define, together with senior management, the division’s overall strategy in a highly dynamic environment
- Identify, scope and lead projects of critical strategic importance to the division - delivering high quality results against often tight deadlines
- Lead division M&A activities - search field definition, origination, active acquisition projects
- Support the head of portfolio shape and evolve this newly established organization
- Build up a best-in-class market intelligence, enabling robust product management decisions as well as sound strategic decisions
- Ensure follow-up to the strategic priorities defined, clearly establishing accountabilities with the senior management team and establishing stringent follow-up mechanisms
- Closely work together with other functions and customer-facing units, particularly product management/ technology, finance, communications and the regions/ countries
- Cascade the division strategy and the initiatives prioritized, in close collaboration with Communications
- Lead the preparation of high-impact documents enabling discussion and decision making in executive management meetings, up to the ABB Executive Committee and Board of Directors level

**Your background**:

- 10+ years relevant work experience
- Typical profiles would include principal-level individuals from a top-tier consultancy, ideally with some industry experience
- Excellent project-management and leadership skills - must have led major strategy projects and teams in the past with demonstrated excellent results
- Ability to independently prioritize and make tradeoffs in a strategic, semi-quantitative environment
- Superior verbal and written communication skills (English)
- Good understanding of Automation space and Energy Industries markets; direct experience is a plus.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic, international and digital work environment
- Ability to effectively guide and leverage project teams across levels, functions, and regions, without formal reporting relationships
- Ability to influence key decisions and align stakeholders to get proper buy-in
- Bias towards pragmatic action and initiating engagement with others
