**About UICC**:
The Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) is the largest global membership organisation dedicated to the fight against cancer. Founded in 1933 and based in Geneva, UICC’s rapidly increasing membership base of over 1200 organisations in 170 countries and territories represents the world’s major cancer societies, ministries of health and patient groups and includes influential policy makers, researchers and experts in cancer prevention and control. UICC also boasts more than 50 strategic partners.

UICC’s mission is to unite and support the cancer community in its efforts to reduce the global cancer burden, promote greater equity, and ensure that cancer control continues to be a priority in the world health and development agenda. In the last decade, UICC has reached millions of people with World Cancer Day, welcomed more than 15,000 delegates at the World Cancer Congresses, and has launched new organisations and coalitions including the International Cancer Control Partnership, the McCabe Centre for Law & Cancer, City Cancer Challenge Foundation, the NCD Alliance and the Access to Oncology Medicines (ATOM) Coalition.

**Capacity Building**:
Capacity Building is one of the three core pillars of UICC’s work, alongside Advocacy and Convening. Through the development of specific capacity building initiatives and programmes, UICC aims to foster an influential cancer community with the skills, knowledge, networks and resources to deliver effective cancer prevention and control. The Capacity Building programmes and opportunities offer a wide variety of support to UICC members and the cancer community, leveraging online learning, grants, fellowships, mentoring and convening opportunities across many topics, such as patient engagement, leadership development, cancer control advocacy.

**Summary of the position**:
The Capacity Building Coordinator will be responsible for providing administrative and coordination support, assisting and working on a number of projects within the Capacity Building team, with a specific emphasis on review, selection and management of grants and/or individual training opportunities, such as fellowships.

**Main responsibilities**:

- Provide support to the coordination of activities relating to UICC’s Fellowships programmes, and/or grants programmes, which would include, but not limited to the following activities:

- Ensuring the smooth running of the online grant management system for relevant programmes, liaising with the platform’s helpdesk where needed.
- Assisting with the monitoring and evaluation of awarded grants and fellowships.
- Support the development and delivery of relevant activities, such as related organisation of convening events and workshops, and processing of travel grants for participants.
- Support the delivery of communications activities, including for example, updating the relevant websites regarding calls for proposals and submission deadlines, preparation of communications materials, engagement of target audiences.
- Assist with the preparation of financial reports, payment requests and monitoring of budget expenditure against planned spend.
- Support the development of reports and presentation for internal and external audiences, including the collection, preparation and reporting of data for monitoring and evaluation purposes.
- Liaising across the Capacity Building team, and with other UICC teams in support of the above responsibilities and/or other activity upon request.

**Position requirements**:

- A university degree with a minimum of three years’ experience in an area relevant to the job description e.g. grant management, budget management or project coordination, preferably in the context of an international non-governmental organisation.
- Experience and proficiency in administrative procedures and coordination of projects, with excellent attention to detail.
- Strong organisational and time management skills to organise own work, to establish priorities and meet deadlines.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with clear evidence of a team-focused mindset.
- Highly computer literate, proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel a must, with experience in using other online databases, or project management systems an asset.
- Fluency in English with additional languages, especially French and Spanish, considered an advantage.
- Desirable: experience and/or knowledge in global health, cancer control, life sciences, and monitoring and evaluation.
- Permit to work in Switzerland
