Head of Marketing and Communication

Gowago challenges the current process of car buying and strives to become the future way of getting a car. Our goal is to become the leader in online automotive retailing by providing the best and easiest customer experience. We believe in monthly payments, fair and transparent prices, and a hassle-free experience to find and drive your next car.
We are a team of 50 enthusiastic and talented people from different nationalities working together on the next generation of car ownership. As a user-first company, our office in Zürich, Switzerland, is always buzzing with discussions about what’s best for our customers, experiments we could run, and how to measure their impact.
Tasks
We are seeking a dynamic Head of Marketing and Communication who combines creative vision with strategic leadership and operational focus. This role requires a balance of innovative thinking and direct campaign management to drive business growth and enhance our brand presence. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, you will lead a lean team of two, plus external consultants, in revolutionizing how we connect with customers.
**Responsibilities**:
**Performance Marketing**:
- Strategy Execution: Own and lead performance marketing strategies from concepts to execution. Focus on achieving sales growth and revenue through cost-effective tactics.
- Data Analysis: Continuously analyze performance data to identify opportunities and challenges. Adapt strategies based on data insights to maximize ROI on every franc spent.
- Optimization: Implement rapid testing and optimization cycles to refine marketing efforts and ensure the highest efficiency and effectiveness of campaigns.
**Branding and Communication**:
- Market Strategy Development: Develop and execute innovative marketing strategies aimed at boosting Gowago’s brand presence and awareness within the Swiss market.
- Campaign Implementation: Launch targeted campaigns that enhance visibility and recognition promoting our brand message
- Unified Branding: Ensure coherence in brand positioning across all customer touchpoints. Collaborate with internal teams to maintain a consistent brand voice and identity.
**Team Leadership and Collaboration**:
- Team Management: Lead and inspire a marketing team and external performance consultants. Establish a culture of high performance and innovation.
- Stakeholder Alignment: Align with internal stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
**Innovative Leadership**:
- Creative Strategy Implementation: develop creative and innovative solutions that support Gowago’s long-term vision. Utilize cutting-edge marketing techniques to maintain industry leadership.
**Requirements**:
**The Must-Haves**:
- A proven track record of transforming marketing strategies into measurable growth and robust brand enhancement.
- Demonstrated creative problem-solving skills and a history of achieving exceptional results in marketing within fast-paced, dynamic environments.
- Strong leadership abilities with the talent to drive a team towards excellence, ensuring that every campaign delivers on its promise.
- Advanced knowledge of digital marketing, analytics, and brand management.
- Excellent communication skills, with fluency in English.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
**The Nice-to-Haves**:
- Fluency in German is a real advantage.
- Experience in the automotive or technology sectors, e-commerce or fintech.
- Experience in the domestic Swiss market.
- Advanced degree in a related field.
- Proven track record in public relations and corporate / startup communications.
