These two positions are located in the Meetings Servicing Unit, Meetings Management Section (MMS), Central Planning and Coordination Service (CPCS), Division of Conference Management (DCM), Department for General Assembly and Conference Management, Geneva. The incumbents will report to the Chief of Unit.
**Responsibilities**:
Within delegated authority, the Meetings Services Assistant will be responsible for the following duties:
- Assists assigned Meetings Services Assistants in meeting rooms;
- Receives, sorts and organizes official documentation for meetings in documents booths;
- Sets up seating arrangements based on approved protocol and room charts;
- Delivers documents, texts of speeches and background material to the podium, language staff, and participants in the meeting room;
- Participates in preparation of room charts and files for each scheduled meeting;
- Orders, retrieves, distributes and/or sets up nameplates for meetings on an urgent basis;
- Clears document booths and meeting rooms in preparation for new meetings;
- Checks availability of conference material and other logistic details prior to start of meetings;
- Receives and makes phone calls to exchange urgent information.
- Performs other related duties as required.

Education
High school diploma or equivalent.
Work Experience
At least two (2) years of experience in general office support or related area is required.
Experience in servicing meetings or conferences preferable in the United Nations Common System or similar international organizations is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For the post advertised, fluency in English or French and knowledge of the other is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language is desirable.
