Events and Administrative Officer

The Bank for International Settlements is looking for an Events and Administrative Officer to join our Meeting Services team in Basel, Switzerland.
Purpose of the job:
Within the Event Management area of the Meeting Services unit, to provide administrative, project management and operational support in and actively contribute to the planning and execution of meetings and events.
Principal Accountabilities:
- To handle a range of general administrative tasks, managing internal and external requests.
- Support the planning, organisation, coordination and execution of internal and external meetings and events and projects.
- Maintain the corresponding information, support processes and workflows and contribute to their enhancement.
- Ensure effective information flow to the Line Manager and within the unit.
- Adhere to established standards, policies and SLAs.
- Follow quality control standards and key performance indicators.
- Contribute to the highest satisfaction of guests and customers.

Qualifications, skills, and experience:
- College diploma or vocational training in business, marketing, hospitality services, or related field.
- Relevant experience in hospitality services domain, event management or project management, preferably in a multi-cultural environment.
- Energetic and proactive attitude; ability to balance multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
- Strong guest and customer orientation. Reliability, tact and discretion.
- Open, responsive team member with highly developed interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work flexibly, accurately and independently with little supervision, even under tight deadlines.
- Ability to oversee and manage aspects of event and meeting planning from conception to completion ensuring smooth execution and timely delivery.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. Good language skills in German and another major language would be advantageous.
