**Purpose of the job**:
To ensure the effective delivery of smooth event technology services through professional, state-of-the-art event production and related infrastructure (audio
- and videoconference, recording, TV systems, including simultaneous interpreting facilities). To run the day-to-day business at the BIS Meeting Assistance Desk. Responsible for defining the strategy and framework for BIS audio-visual (AV) event technology.

**Principal accountabilities**:

- Support the Head of Meeting Services in implementing the unit strategy and objectives for the event technology aspects.
- Responsible for coordination, management and ownership of all AV technology services.
- Advise on the design and planning of all event technology installations/upgrades (audio
- and videoconference and event production equipment), taking account of the latest technological developments, to ensure that the BIS technical installations are, in accordance with requirements, state of the art. Draw up specifications and work closely with CFM to meet BIS requirements. Formulate project proposals to aid decision-making by the project owner.
- Liaise with ITS, CFM and other internal counterparts on solution selection and assessment, and secure functional architecture design.
- Maintain and manage the technical equipment under responsibility, to ensure consistently smooth operation of equipment in the event support infrastructure during and outside official working hours, such as in the framework of bimonthly meetings or other critical events.

- Maintain and manage the technical equipment under responsibility, to ensure consistently smooth operation of equipment in the event support infrastructure during and outside official working hours, such as in the framework of bimonthly meetings or other critical events.
- Project manages large, medium or small projects related to the area of duty, including contribution to tender selection processes.
- Provide first and second level support. Supervise maintenance work in the area of responsibility and commission regular servicing work by outside firms. Manage and update documentation providing useful plant and equipment information and keep relevant statistics.
- Provide advice and guidance to Event Managers and Organisers on technical meeting and event setup, room layouts and equipment. Coordinate floor plan creation with CFM. Responsible for the organisation of all technical preparatory tasks in the context of setting up meeting/seminar rooms according to customer requirements.
- Manage a team of Technical and Customer Service staff at the Meeting Assistance Desk and in meeting rooms, provide instructions and continually update their knowledge. Assist and act as back-up to the Head of Meeting Services in the planning of meetings and the related administrative tasks.
- In accordance with the business objectives of MS, provide effective and efficient management of human, technical and financial resources.
- Contribute to the planning of the annual budget for the area of responsibility, regularly monitors adherence to the approved budget over time and takes corrective action in the event of significant deviations. Checks invoices relating to the area of responsibility.
- Keeps abreast of the market in the area of responsibility by analysing the specialist literature, visiting fairs and exhibitions and cultivating contacts with manufacturers and suppliers. Uses the knowledge acquired in accordance with the BIS's specific requirements.
