**Head of Process Support and QC (80%-100%)**
**Job Purpose**
The Head of Process Support & Quality Control is responsible for all production process optimization activities and Quality Control laboratories. The role provides leadership, management, evaluation and training to his / her department. He / she contributes to achieving and maintaining competitive COGS for the products on site and state of the art production processes and is responsible for the development and optimization of assigned chemical processes generating benefits in yield, quality and cost. Furthermore, the role leads process transfers from laboratories to the relevant production plant or site (scale up).
**Your Tasks & Responsibilities**
- Ensure the competitiveness of active ingredient manufacturing operations:
- Supervise all chemical & analytical research & development projects at the site
- Manage resources and lead the team of Process Support, QC and Optimization and Validation of analytical methods
- Support the production plant temas during trouble shooting with lab trials and recommendations
- Drive and initiate continuous process improvements in order to contribute to the site objectives, e.g. cost improvement, efficiency, etc.
- Assess the potential outcome of initiated process improvement actions (variable cost savings, etc.)
- Support the Make or Buy process by preparing 5 batch samples for Material Accountability (MA) study prerequisite for registration
- Accountable for the chemical quality control and release testing of all products manufactured on site, on schedule release of analytical results e.g. raw materials, in process controls, ai's & intermediates as well as adhoc analytics
- Develop and continuously optimizing analytical processes in terms of e.g. safety, costs, quality, capacity, ecology, stability
- Manage product release issues and transferring analytical methods
- Review and evaluate data, test methods, procedures, project reports, deviations, investigations and other (ISO, GLP) critical documentation generated by analysts, technicians and supervisors for accuracy and compliance with SOP's, Bayer standards and regulatory requirements
- Working out and updating a process dossier for internal and external production
- Identify industrial synergies between the processes in BCS plants
**Who you are**
- Higher degree with minimum MSc / HTL in Natural Sciences and PhD
- Broad experience in development and optimization of chemical production processes
- Profound expert knowledge in organic chemistry, synthesis process measuring and technology
- In depth knowledge in organic, technical and analytical chemistry (e.g. HPLC, NMR, IR)
- Min. 3 years working experience in an industrial environment
- In depth knowledge of project management
- Broad understanding of and interest in cost control processes
- Proven personal leadership responsibility and passion for leading and developing people
- Good ability and interest to work cross functionally and to network beyond own responsibility
- Good communication and leadership skills
- Sound IT and digital affinity and knowledge, interested in developing and driving froward digital solutions
- Fluent German and English (German is a must)
