  • Your roleAs Head of Mortgage Credit at Bank J. Safra Sarasin you are an experienced professional with a combination of commercial and residential real estate experience with a proven track record in managerial roles and provide excellent mortgage lending services to the Bank's front units while reporting to the Head Group Credit and the Group Credit Committee.


 Your responsibilities
  • Lead and coordinate a wide mortgage portfolio, managing from owneroccupied residential properties to commercial real estate for the Swiss and international markets
  • Manage a team of experienced mortgage officers and coordinate all activities related to Mortgage lending, ranging from simple up to complex structures
  • Handle transactions from A to Z including initial screening, preparing credit risk analysis, structuring and execution including legal documentation in cooperation with Legal department and external lawyers, booking process and monitoring via annual reviews and covenant monitoring
  • Enable the structuring and timely completion of transactions in line with the risk appetite of the bank and ensure adequate monitoring and timely reviews of credit limits
  • Actively foster collaboration with other credit teams (Lombard lending, Monitoring and credit departments in other locations) as well as other departments (Legal, Compliance, Operations, Treasury etc.)
  • Update mortgagerelated credit directives, keep abreast of related regulatory requirements and enhance processes and riskmitigating controls accordingly
  • Support/participate in "change the bank" projects in collaboration with the Head Group Credit


 Your profile
  • University degree in Business / Finance or comparable higher financial education
  • Minimum 1015 years experience as a Credit professional including real estate financing in a Private Bank or in a Financial Institution. Ideally having covered several geographies/jurisdictions and covered medium to large commercial real estate transactions
  • Excellent analytical and technical skills combined with an ability to these in a practical and balanced manner
  • Experienced in managing and developing a motivated team
  • Well organized selfstarter with the ability to prioritize and work independently and efficiently. Commitment and "Rollup your sleeves" attitude are essential
  • Ability to engage with various stakeholders in Front Office and Management as well technical experts
  • Senior, engaged, flexible and openminded personality who is able to successfully operate in a dynamic and fastpaced international environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Strong language skills in German and/or French
  • Ability to travel frequently between Geneva and Basel as there are team members in both offices; no remote working
