General Accounting Specialist for trading companies (Switzerland and the Netherlands)
The Specialist Accountant is responsible for timely bookings and accuracy of the financial statements for both US GAAP and local GAAP reporting, SOX controls and internal and external reporting for the entities in scope.
You assist the Swiss and Dutch entity controller group in the execution and delivery of the accounting (US GAAP and local GAAP), SOX controls and internal and external reporting for these companies. You collaborate closely with other members of the Entity Controllers Group (including the team in the US), Global Delivery Operations (GDO), Costing team and the Tax teams. You are also part of continuous process improvements and participate in various global projects.
Ensures financial accounts are maintained in line with statutory requirements and US-GAAP by applying appropriate accounting policies and procedures and oversees maintenance of supporting documentation, including creation of external financial reports.
Ensures strong cooperation with Global Delivery Operations (GDO) Centers in Lisbon to execute on agreed deliverables and processes.
Ensures effective financial control environment by understanding, monitoring and executing on local control procedures and that all key controls as defined in the company’s Global and Local Control Standards are properly executed and documented.

We use state-of-the-art techniques for financial analysis, planning, accounting, reporting and performance evaluation. This allows the organization to continue advancing medical innovation and improve lives.
Role Responsibilities:
Complete month-end closing activities as per the closing checklist and communicated timelines.
Perform the Revenue Recognition analysis as per the standard process to ensure correct and timely recording of revenue.
Perform the Order to Cash activities for revenue recognition
Review and approve Credit Notes and Pricing requests.
Closely cooperate with the Global Delivery Operations in Lisbon to execute deliverables.
Bring solutions and continuous improvement to simplify and automate manual processes.
Prepare different reports as per the country reporting requirements.
Assist with the month end trial balance review.
Perform account reconciliations review and identify open items to resolve.
Work closely with the Transfer Pricing team to ensure that profitability adjustments are accurately posted to achieve the target profit of the Limited Risk Distributors.
Participate in the local statutory and tax ledger postings.
Participate in preparing the annual report as per local GAAP.
Collaborate with internal and external auditors.
Perform and document internal controls timely.
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance and/or Accounting, CPA or Master`s are preferred.
At least 5 years of demonstrated experience in an accounting and/or finance role in an international organization (Pharma Industry is preferred).
Expert in accounting and financial reporting.
Proven strong stakeholder management skills and able to deliver quality closing of our books.
Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
Demonstrates understanding of US GAAP and local GAAP and applies them appropriately to ensure the financial integrity of the business and financial statements
Adheres to the highest standards of ethical behavior in all interactions and hold others to the same standards; comply with all laws, policies and regulations; identify and address ethical issues without hesitation
