Key Account Manager – Switzerland (German-speaking region)

Overview

We are looking for a driven and relationship-focused Key Account Manager to join our Commercial team in Switzerland, with a strong emphasis on the German-speaking region. In this highly specialized therapeutic area, you will play a critical role in supporting healthcare professionals (HCPs) in the early identification and management of transthyretin amyloidosis — directly contributing to improved patient outcomes across cardiology and neurology.

As a field-based expert, you will be at the forefront of Alnylam's transthyretin amyloidosis program, shaping and executing strategic account activities while representing our mission and values with integrity. You'll engage closely with cardiologists, neurologists, hospital pharmacists, and other stakeholders, bringing a blend of scientific acumen, commercial insight, and genuine partnership to your interactions.

This role offers significant autonomy to manage your territory, build meaningful partnerships, and influence how our therapies are understood and adopted. You will collaborate closely with Commercial, Market Access, and Medical Affairs colleagues to ensure aligned execution and compliance with all relevant company, regulatory, and ethical standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with cardiologists, neurologists, and other key HCPs to deliver scientific and clinical education that aids in the early and accurate diagnosis of transthyretin amyloidosis.
  • Present and explain complex scientific data in a clear, accessible manner to ensure HCPs fully understand the diagnostic tools and methodologies.
  • Introduce and promote our transthyretin amyloidosis products as a key solution for patient management. Ensure HCPs understand its clinical benefits.
  • Assist in the launch of our next indication, particularly with cardiologists, by building awareness, sharing data, and facilitating market adoption.
  • Serve as a key educational resource for all relevant stakeholders to help navigate reimbursement and patient access challenges.
  • Develop strong relationships with key HCPs and hospital pharmacists, navigating access challenges and ensuring product adoption.
    Lead and manage your own territory and key account plans, developing strategies to educate HCPs while driving business objectives.

Qualifications

  • University degree in a business-related field such as life sciences, medicine or comparable educational background.
  • Certified SHQA Pharma Sales Rep is a plus.
  • Proven success in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare sales, especially in supporting HCPs with scientific and diagnostic knowledge.
  • A strong network in cardiology is desired. Experience with rare diseases is a plus.
  • Ability to engage HCPs on the front lines of diagnosis, using clinical data and insights to support early disease identification.
  • Strong knowledge of the reimbursement landscape and the practice management environment in German-speaking Switzerland.
  • A self-starter who thrives in a dynamic environment, eager to make a direct impact on patient outcomes.
  • A natural networker with a talent for building and maintaining professional relationships with HCPs.
  • Ability to travel within territory on a regular basis (80% of the time) including occasional overnight and weekend travel.
  • Must hold a valid driver's license.
  • Proficient knowledge in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc. for project work and team collaboration.
    Fluent in German and English, both written and verbal.
