Job objective

Partner & Head of Investment Funds is to lead and expand the firm's legal practice in investment funds. The role combines high-level legal expertise with business acumen and strategic leadership.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic legal advice to Swiss and international clients on aspects of investment fund law
• Lead the structuring, formation, and regulatory approval of various fund types (e.g. private equity, venture capital, real estate, infrastructure, hedge funds, UCITS, AIFs)
• Support clients in ongoing fund operations, governance, and compliance matters
• Draft, review, and negotiate fund documentation, including limited partnership agreements, investment management agreements, offering memoranda, and subscription documents
• Represent clients before regulatory bodies (e.g. FINMA) and in court or arbitration proceedings where necessary
• Drive the acquisition of new mandates and strengthen the firm's market position in the funds and asset management space
• Cultivate and expand long-term client relationships through high-quality service and proactive engagement
• Develop business development strategies, contribute to thought leadership (e.g. articles, webinars, events), and represent the firm at industry conferences
• Lead and grow the investment funds team within the firm, supporting its strategic and operational development
• Mentor and supervise junior lawyers and associates, promoting professional development and knowledge sharing
• Ensure compliance with internal quality standards, billing targets, and operational goals

Requirements

Education

• Swiss bar admission and first-class qualification
• Excellent academic credentials in law (Master's degree / PhD)
• Additional studies in business law or financial law

Professional experience

• 10 + years of proven work experience as a lawyer, preferably in a Partner role in a law firm, auditing firm, or senior level in-house legal department of bank or asset management companies

Languages

• Stylistically confident, appropriate English and German
• Additional languages (e.g. French, Italian) are an asset

• Results-oriented, proactive, and resilient under pressure
• Charismatic and confident, with the ability to represent the firm at conferences and industry forums

• Established client network and ability to attract new mandates (existing book of business is a strong plus)
• Entrepreneurial mindset with the capability to build and grow
• Proven ability to lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of legal professionals
• Experience in internal knowledge sharing, thought leadership, and promoting best practices
