Role Description

The Engineer Intern supports engineering teams in designing, developing, testing, and implementing technical projects. This internship provides practical experience in applying engineering principles, analytical problem-solving, and teamwork in real-world settings. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the intern assists with project documentation, data collection, prototype development, and technical research, gaining exposure to industry-standard practices and professional workflows.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design, development, and testing of engineering solutions, systems, or components.
  • Conduct research, collect technical data, and support analysis for ongoing projects.
  • Prepare and update engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers on prototype development, simulations, and modeling.
  • Perform data analysis and generate reports under guidance.
  • Support troubleshooting, testing, and performance validation of products or systems.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of project progress, test results, and design revisions.
  • Learn and utilize engineering software and tools relevant to the discipline (e.g., AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks, Python).
  • Follow safety, quality, and compliance standards in all assigned tasks.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Software, or related fields).
  • Strong academic foundation in engineering principles, mathematics, and analytical problem-solving.
  • Basic knowledge of engineering software or programming languages depending on specialization.
  • Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Eagerness to learn and apply new technical concepts.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant design or simulation tools.
  • Fluent in English; Japanese proficiency is a plus for Japan-based roles.
