Lead Technical Program Manager, Assistant Services

Minimum qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience
- Technical program management experience with software/hardware development
- Experience leading a team of technical program managers
- Experience establishing methods, tools, and process improvements for cross-team initiatives

Preferred qualifications:

- MBA or PhD in management, technical or engineering field
- Ability to navigate ambiguity while introducing a level of structure
- Ability to drive technical discussions or resolve technical issues with engineering leads
- Ability to understand the relationship between horizontal and vertical technologies, its organization and leadership motivation and quickly respond to changing circumstances in a strategic way.
- Software engineering program management skills (i.e., project and issue tracking, release/risk management, etc.)

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage various Engineering-specific programs and teams.

As Lead Technical Program Manager, you will be a thought partner to the assistant product, engineering, and UX teams in driving the definition of the journey strategy, leading execution across multitudes of teams, and growing feature usage across multiple surfaces and locales. Additionally, you’ll partner closely with engineering, product, and cross-functional leadership to ensure organizational alignment.

**Responsibilities**:

- Demonstrate leadership through thought partnership with product, engineering, and UX leadership teams.
- Influence decision making and business planning by understanding the complexity around product, regulatory, competitive, ecosystem, and external dynamics.
- Mobilize cross-functional teams within Assistant, and other product areas towards delivering solutions and data-driven decisions; lead, launch, and support our product delivery needs.
- Manage a portfolio of technical projects, drive a multi-quarter roadmap, and communicate to executive stakeholders.
- Lead a team of Automation technical program managers to drive programs, establish systemic processes and governance frameworks, and leverage best practices across the services team and assistant organization.
