Head of Strategy and Business Operations Pvar

The primary objective of Head PVAR Business Strategy & Operations is to provide strategic and operational support to define and execute on GPSE-PVAR vision, improve GPSE-PVAR business performance to further advances its capability, strategically and with innovative approaches on level setting processes with leading industry standards.

In this role, you will:

- Partner closely with the Head of PVAR, Regional Heads, Head CoE PVAR, Area/Cluster Leads, Patient Safety Leads worldwide, other GPSE functions and all key stakeholders internally and externally to develop strategies for innovative approaches to ensure Patient Safety at local, regional and global level. You will help to foster an innovative, dynamic and aligned PVAR team.
- Oversee the operational excellence and performance measurement of GPSE-PVAR
- Drive continuous enhancement and implementation of GPSE-PVAR vision and strategies in close collaboration with Head of PVAR and PVAR Leadership team
- Foster and maintain a highly engaging and collaborative GPSE-PVAR culture and oversee PVAR communication strategies
- Define and advance the vision and objectives of the GPSE-PVAR function in close collaboration with the Head of PVAR and the PVAR Leadership Team and ensure optimal execution of the vision with maintenance and tracking of relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Support and coordinate process improvement and change management, in collaboration with PVAR LT throughout the PVAR organization in concurrence with company-wide and functional plans.
- Support and coordinate cross-functional project management and internal and external communication planning for GPSE-PVAR

Key activities:

- Work with Head of PVAR and PVAR LT members on mid to long term strategic planning and organizational initiatives including definition of scope, budget, timeline and project success criteria.
- Identify risks, diagnose issues and champion solutions to enable optimal strategy execution within and across all areas of GPSE-PVAR
- Monitor progress of strategic initiatives, including risks and issues, and develop the appropriate mitigation plans.
- Support in development of GPSE-PVAR annual KPIs and provide tracking and monitoring on performance to ensure its achievements
- Assess internal performance metrics against industry benchmarks and identify areas of non-performance or enhancement
- Support Head of PVAR in overseeing business operation activities and provide necessary guidance / support to the PVAR LT
- Drive the development and continuous improvement of business intelligence capabilities within GPSE-PVAR
- Partnership with relevant stakeholders incl GPSE to develop annual plan, related communication strategy and ensure its execution jointly to promote a Safety Culture across the regions, worldwide
- Work in close collaboration with the GPSE, ensuring alignment with the global GPSE strategies to ensure alignment.

Skills and Experience required for the role:

- Degree in life sciences or business-related field required. Advanced degree such as PhD and MBA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of pharmaceutical/device industry experience, with at least 5 years in Pharmacovigilance and/or PV Affiliate Relation
- Extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry, with a high level of exposure to drug safety/clinical operations or research and development project management and working in or with local affiliates.
- Strong proven leadership capability with well-developed skills in teambuilding, motivating and developing people and able to demonstrates collaborative leadership and influence necessary to ensure alignment among key stakeholders.
- Proven track record in project management and leading initiatives
- Advanced skills in designing and developing global project plan, coordinating and tracking global projects and administrative skills.
- Contribute to new ideas for improving organizational operations
- Self-motivated able to work independently and influence others to drive projects forward in a fast-paced environment
- Advanced knowledge of PV operations, global safety regulations and business planning processes, particularly international (FDA, EMA) pharmacovigilance regulations.
