**About the Role**

As a member of the Center of Expertise for Data Architecture and Initiatives, you will actively deliver a strategic impact by supporting the implementation of Swiss Re's ambition to become data connected company. You will contribute to central initiatives and work on constantly improving the company-wide data landscape in collaboration with the business domains. For this role you will need to have strong analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to recognize competing requirements and to balance trade-offs.

If you are an IT and data enthusiast who enjoys creating a meaningful data architecture direction and wish to work with a variety of partners all over the globe on innovative data and analytics topics, this role is for you

You will have an opportunity to:
- Contribute to key strategic initiatives that impact Swiss Re's data and analytics landscape - from concept to delivery- Build data architecture visualizations and blueprints to support design decisions, solution design and explanation of requirements to various audiences in business and IT- Create and maintain an overall Swiss Re data architecture landscape highlighting the impact of strategic projects- Define and maintain best practices and standards for data and data platforms used across the company- Assess and promote innovative data architecture concepts such as data mesh or data fabric- Work with other members of the Group Data Services division, including product owners, data governance experts, data engineers, data analysts and data scientists- Champion oneness through facilitating a cross-domain data architects' community- Liaise, align, and partner with relevant architecture decision bodies and domain experts

**About the Team**

We are looking for a new Data Architect to join our highly skilled global team. You should have a passion for technology and enjoy translating strategy into architecture. We are working as a small team with colleagues from various countries who have outstanding experience. You will work closely with many business domains and projects which will enable you to actively demonstrate your analytical, managerial and communication skills.

**About You**

Nobody is perfect and meets 100% of requirements. If you however meet some of the criteria below, we will be happy to meet you.

Required to succeed in this role:
- demonstrated ability in enterprise/data architecture, business analysis, data management, data analytics, ML/AI or another related field- Experience in the design of data architectures and data models- Domain experience in insurance/reinsurance or in the financial services sector would be preferred- Good communication skills and the ability to explain even complex concepts to various audiences- Excellent analytical, conceptual, and critical thinking skills

Optional criteria which will be an advantage for you:
- University degree in information management, computer science, engineering, natural sciences, or comparable qualification- Experience in modern cloud architectures and related data platform services- Experience in a modern programming language- Knowledge in agile approaches- Experience in machine learning, natural language processing or data science
