Legal Counsel Corporate Governance 80%-100%

The Governance, ESG Legal & Corporate Law Team consists of lawyers and share register managers located within the Central Legal Team of Zurich Insurance Group in Zurich, Switzerland. The team provides legal advice and support to various stakeholders on governance, ESG legal matters, employment law and corporate law and is responsible for corporate governance at Group level, Zurich Insurance Group Ltd’s share register and AGM.

**What you will do**
- Be responsible for Zurich Insurance Group’s Corporate Governance documentation at management level and collaborate with team members for board level documentation.
- Drive corporate law and corporate governance topics, including the drafting and/or review of reports, internal policies and guidelines from a group perspective; support in the implementation of internal policies and provide training to relevant stakeholders as required.
- Provide legal advice and conduct legal research within the remit of the team, all with a view to understand legal implications of business initiatives and provide practical goal-oriented solutions to relevant stakeholders.
- Work with company secretaries and lawyers across the world with respect to general corporate matters and subsidiary governance, provide legal advice to business, subsidiaries and foundations relating to corporate matters and subsidiary governance requirements.
- Proactively identify key trends and developments in with focus on corporate law, environment, social and governance aspects (Swiss and international); prepare presentations and reports/updates to key stakeholders and foster know-how exchange within the legal function through practice groups and with external constituents.
- Provide general legal advice on an ad hoc basis to other Group functions, to subsidiaries and within the Central Legal Team.

**What you bring**
- Swiss Law degree (Master in Law; Attorney at law), ideally with a postgraduate qualification (e.g., LL.M.), with strong background in corporate law and corporate governance.
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a law firm and/or legal department of a larger enterprise and/or comparable organization, ideally listed at a stock exchange.
- Strong ability to write clearly, concisely, and accurately for a wide variety of audiences; comprehend abstract and complex concepts and translate them to concrete, simple, user-friendly documents.
- A curious, proactive and autonomous mindset with strong ownership approach; ability to think outside of the box and to find pragmatic, business-oriented solutions.
- Person of integrity and able to work under pressure in a professional way and with a commitment to being a team-player.
- Strong communicator, able to form effective working relationships with a variety of functions at all levels.
- Good conceptual, organizational and analytical skills and excellent verbal and writing skills.
- Excellent command of English and German both spoken and written is essential, other languages a plus.
