Salesforce Development Lead

The Information Technology team’s mission is to envisage, deliver and develop IT solutions that support the Forum’s core activities, with the aim to integrate, standardize, facilitate and streamline all business processes. The Salesforce Development Lead will bring strong technical and leadership skills to maintain and evolve the current implementation of a platform that is key in the World Economic Forum digital ecosystem. Exceptionally clear documentation and communication skills, capacity to take impactful decisions on the technology roadmap and the ability to thrive flexibly within a complex organization are necessary.

Reporting Lines & Interactions

Part of the Forum IT Team, the Salesforce Development Lead reports to the Head of Engineering. They are the interface between Leadership and the Salesforce combination of internal and external development resources

Breakdown of main responsibilities
- 20% Team management
- 20% External sourcing strategy and providers relationship
- 60% Salesforce Platform roadmap definition, implementation, support and communication to leadership

Leading the Salesforce Development team to design, build, deploy and support the Forum’s internal software platform: Salesforce.
- Being responsible for the technical Salesforce solution and architecture.
- Designing and prioritizing ongoing platform improvements.
- Setting the vision for internal software at the Forum.
- Defining and implementing best practices for software development, documentation and maintenance.
- Managing a team of 2 internal Salesforce developers and 14 external consultants.
- Coordinating and supporting the team to meet the Forum's internal software needs.
- Providing support to business teams in the preparation of Forum annual and regional meetings, including on-site.
- Defining and analysing metrics that inform the success of the Forum's internal software platform.
- Working with others to devise and implement the resourcing strategy (internal/external mix) for the team.
- Working with other teams to ensure the delivery of internal software is well coordinated to give complete solutions.
- Working closely with Salesforce support team and customer success team to ensure, the Forum maximize the value of Salesforce platform and products

Formula for Success
- Broad intellectual background with a university-level education in computer science, mechanical/electrical engineering, physics or related field
- 5 years of relevant industry experience in technical product management or engineering lead
- Fluency in English, with excellent written, digital and verbal communication skills
- Experience working closely with engineering delivery teams and following a structured development process, preferably in an Agile environment
- Experience with the software development tools/platform space, including an issue-tracking software (e.g. JIRA)
- Salesforce product knowledge of Sales, Service, Mulesoft, CRM Analytics, Platform, Experience Cloud and LWC would be advantageous
