IATA’s ONE Record data sharing standard has become the foundation for next generation of digitalization of air cargo. It now features on the agenda of leading airlines, their partners and global governance bodies. It has achieved a level of readiness that now needs to become permanent, by maintaining the standard, expanding its scope and enhance the implementation and use of semantic data technologies.

Reporting to the Head, Digital Cargo, the API Development Lead will contribute with expert technology skills and lead the continued development of this data sharing standard as well as the associated tools, solutions, and documentary content. The API Development Lead will also lead and inspire the expert community around ONE Record.

What your day would be like
- Own the development and evolution of the ONE Record API standard and produce and maintain documentation including implementation guides
- Maintain and expand the reference implementation of our ONE Record server (JAVA)
- Develop air cargo data sharing demonstrator front end for the reference implementation
- Develop automated compliance system to allow 3rd parties to benchmark their implementations
- Support implementation of a semantic endpoint on the reference server
- Lead industry group for IT solution providers and CCS for the implementation of ONE Record
- Lead the expert community made of architects, API/Security experts, developers from the industry to capture industry requirements and solution design inputs
- Support the development of interoperability strategies between ONE Record and legacy Cargo XML and Cargo IMP standards
- Support the Digital Cargo Working Group in development and integration of semantic data model and data & business processes
- Support IATA’s digital cargo events and lead the technical delivery of our hackathons, ensure availability and support for our API’s and reference solutions.

We would love to hear from you if
- Formal education that includes a combination of full stack development and software engineering;
- Must have developed and delivered one or more significant development projects;
- Knowledge and experience in IT development processes, full-stack development and semantic technology;
- Experienced and passionate with major dev technologies. That includes server-side Java, Python and front-end development frameworks
- Hands on experience or keen interest in graph databases, ontologies development and RDF;
- Strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills; able to understand complex issues and translate them into simple, workable actions and plans;
- Detailed oriented, at ease with numbers and a strong focus on quality;
- Great organizational skills, with the ability to manage a global scope and team, effectively prioritize and meet deadlines;
- Able to show initiative;
- Excellent communication skills: interpersonal, written and verbal; ability to interact with and influence people of all cultures and levels; ability to design and deliver high impact presentations;
- Ability to work independently, but also thriving in a team.

Travel Required: 10%
