The Head of Social Media develops and executes, MSC Cruises global social media strategy to deliver a best-in-class and cutting-edge social media community and presence for MSC Cruises worldwide with the goals of creating brand awareness, brand relevancy and driving demand through the critical elements of social media: content, community, influencers and measurement. The Head of Social Media, together with the team, builds an engaged social media community across various platforms, and employ social media tactics to amplify impressions, reach and engagement of key company initiatives such as new ship launches.
Bachelor's Degree or Master’s degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications; or any equivalent combination of relevant education and\/or work experience. MBA preferred
- Minimum of 8-10 years of organic social media marketing experience for a global brand
- Proven track record of managing effective social media programs for large and reputable brands
- Active social media user with robust working knowledge of all notable social platforms and a curiosity for understand emerging trends in the space
- Advanced experience with major social media platforms including TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, andTwitter
- Hands-on experience with social media reporting and KPIs
- Hands on experience with community management and crisis communication
- Experience with influencer marketing strategy and analysis
- Working knowledge of social media tools such as: Hootsuite, Social Studio, Stackla, Sprout Social, BrandWatch,Netbase, Facebook Business Manager, Facebook Page Insights, Instagram Analytics and Twitter Analytics
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate and influence key stakeholder including senior management
- Exceptional written skills with storytelling ability and possession of visual brand identity skills
- Experience with photoshop and graphic design is a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to handle pressure in a very fast paced environment
- Proven ability to meet deadlines and handle multiple projects simultaneously in an environment with changing business demands.
- Develop social media strategy for MSC Cruises globally that aligns with global brand vision
- Manage the balance between global accounts and local markets accounts providing contents and strategy directions
- Create platform-specific strategies tailored to each unique platform audience while ensuring brand consistency overall
- Build and lead a highly creative, agile, and responsive social team that delivers strong engagement and demand generation
- Establish a community management playbook for brand engagement, customer service, UGC requests and crisis management
- Develop unique and buzz-worthy launch plans for new social media platforms that result in rapid growth and engagement
- Determine KPI goals and benchmarks and ongoing reporting inclusive of content performance, social media listening metrics and demand generation metrics (visits, leads, and bookings)
- Build a robust and automated social media reporting framework to establish benchmarks and report success
- Manage relationships with social media partners and external agencies to deliver industry leading campaigns
- Develop robust social media activation plans that maximize impressions, reach and engagement rates for new ship inaugurals and key events
- Establish influencer strategy that increases brand awareness and relevance, and supports coverage, reach, and engagement of key events including new ship launches and new homeports
- Work closely with Trade Marketing Manager to develop and execute B2B social media strategies that engage and grow travel partner social media audience
- Maximize user generated content library and opportunities in partnership with corporate headquarters
- Monitor and report on emerging digital trends, best practices and new social features
