At a moment of profound global complexity, the World Economic Forum is expanding the team that works on geopolitics and global cooperation.

The team is part of the Forum’s Centre for Regional and Global Cooperation and will be responsible for delivering analysis and programming that assist stakeholders in better understanding—and shaping—the new geopolitical context.

Reporting lines and interactions

This position will report to the Head, Geopolitical Agenda and Communications.

This role primarily interacts with the regional and community teams within the Forum’s Centre for Regional and Global Cooperation as well as with external experts and leaders from the public and private sectors.

Main responsibilities- Help identify opportunities to scale the Forum’s geopolitical and Peace & Reconciliation work by conducting landscape mapping and analysis, liaising with stakeholders, and working with the Forum’s regional and community teams; prepare proposals accordingly.- Help manage communities of experts, public figures, and business leaders with the aim of developing insight for partners and stakeholders and identifying opportunities for greater global cooperation.- Offer research and writing support for internal
- and external-facing communications and analysis.- Oversee the development of the Diplomacy Dialogue series and other related sessions at the Annual Meeting; Support the preparation of the Forum’s Informal Gathering of World Economic Leaders (IGWEL) program.- Monitor geopolitical developments and trends to ensure that the Forum’s work is impactful.- Help design and develop a flagship report and/or analysis series.- Ability to undertake research on geopolitical or regional issues and present findings in an actionable format.- Expertise in geopolitics, international affairs, or peacebuilding.- Ability to craft content that engages diverse audiences.- Ability to build strong internal relationships and networks within complex organizations and multi-cultural environments.

Preferred requirements and experience- Eight years of professional experience in an international organization, nongovernmental organization, think tank or similar institution.- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in public policy, international relations, or other relevant discipline.- Expertise in geopolitics, global security, peacebuilding or related field.- Outstanding writing and communication skills, with experience distilling complex information into accessible and engaging op-eds, speeches, white papers or blog posts.- Demonstrated project management experience, especially in the conceptualization and implementation phases.- Entrepreneurial energy, with the ability to propose new projects and iterate proposals based on input from a variety of audiences.- Excellent network-building skills with a passion for cultivating external relationships.- Willingness to work in a dynamic setting on a growing team, delivering outstanding results under pressure.- Ability to embrace nuance and ambiguity.- Fluency in English.
