Why we are recruiting
As part of the Centre for Regional and Geopolitical Affairs, the India and South Asia team manages relationships with governments, regulators and other public institutions in the region. The team coordinates the Forum’s engagement with civil society, academia, expert communities and research organization partners and is responsible for curating and shaping the regional agenda. The team is also responsible for stimulating public-private partnerships aimed at tackling challenges and achieving sustained economic progress in South Asia. The focus of this role will primarily be on India, while supporting colleagues working on other countries in the region.
Reporting Lines & Interactions
Breakdown of main responsibilities- 50% Relationship management and incubating initiatives with Platforms- 30% Policy analysis and project management- 20% administration and coordination within and outside the Forum- Working with internal and external stakeholders to identify the key relationships needed in India, and build and implement a strategic approach to managing these relationships- Collaborating with internal stakeholders to ensure that India’s issues are well-integrated into the overall work of the Forum and there is a strong representation at the Annual and Regional Meetings- Engaging these stakeholders not only in Forum meetings, such as the Annual Meeting in Davos-Klosters, but also in a year-round portfolio of projects and initiatives on the ground- Conducting research on topics and projects relevant to the region, and enable the team to act as the Forum’s key adviser on government and policy in India- Monitoring policy priorities of the Indian government to ensure that the Forum’s work on the region is cutting-edge and up-to-date- Helping convene communities in India around specific ideas and challenges, and help catalyse and manage projects and initiatives
Preferred Requirements and Experience- 7-10 years’ professional experience, including relevant exposure to India and preferably South Asia- Master’s degree in international relations, economics or business- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English; other regional languages a plus- Proven interest in global affairs, excellence in business, geopolitics, and a proven interest in global affairs- Willingness to work in a dynamic setting, requiring outstanding results under pressure- Ability to connect the dots in a complex environment, strong service and entrepreneurial attitude- Energetic, self-directed, customer-oriented and collaborative/positive team player who is comfortable in a fast paced and international environment.- Fully proficient at using various digital tools for both internal and external purposes
