With a very large portfolio of products, ranging from on-line payments to omnichannel offer management and from tax-free to payment at the point of sale, Planet helps Merchants delivering better payments experiences for customers through our products and services, in a world where digital and physical experiences are coming together.
Our Retail Sales team comprises of 150 employees globally, who, with the acquisition of Datatrans and Proximis, are just getting started to provide a real feel good, connected experience at world's most well-known Retailers.
We are seeking diverse, highly motivated and skilled experts in payments, with a strong passion for acquiring new customers and growing existing ones.
Role Overview
Based in Switzerland, this role focuses on selling retail payment products to customers and prospects and leading a team to deliver core double digit growth.
The VP Retail Sales is an experienced, knowledgeable, and customer-obsessed professional who will sell and develop programs to new merchants and create value propositions that deliver growth. Your responsibilities are to create and utilize your network to source, convince and win accounts. You will work with world class marketing, product and support organizations. Our product suite is growing fast and you thrive selling tech products to different stakeholders within an organization. Winning new customers with your team and driving revenue are the key performance indicators in our fast growing business

What you’ll be doing
- Sell new payment products to prospects and existing clients. The focus is on NEW
- Managing a team of Key Account Managers and New Business Hunters
- Develop and execute a New Business and Cross Sell Strategy for retail encompassing segmentation and potential analysis with a clear targeting outcome and value prop
- Sell & Position Planet’s Connected Commerce value proposition consisting of POS and eCom Payment solutions
- Understand merchants' business needs and define success criteria as relevant to their unique business dynamics
- Partner with internal and external teams to enrol retail merchants and brands in growth initiatives.
- Break targets and pipeline into doable actions and set timeframes to deliver them.
- Ensure the Company targets and objectives are the key focus priority.
- Make sure your Sales Team’s activities are clearly reported, documented and shared internally.
- Scout for new businesses whilst creating and maintaining productive partnerships that can source new business for you
- Develop a deep understanding of the current and future functionality of Planet to find and execute new opportunities.
Who you are
- Have at least 10 years of experience of working in a Sales or Business Development role in the Retail, Payment, SaaS or E-Commerce sector
- Have a proven track record of winning new business in Switzerland
- You have a network of retailer contacts and can start selling with your team instantly
- You are a Team Leader with a strong focus on execution
- Your customers and prospects always come first and you love to spend time with them
- You are a networker and part of the Swiss Payment network
- You are curious and have a hands-on-mentality
- Bring the ability to adapt easily to fast-changing environments
- Good decision making, problem-solving, and negotiating skills.
