Dir Consumer Supply Chain Architect

The Director, Consumer Supply Chain Software Engineer is the senior resource supporting the strategy, design, and engineering of Supply Chain technology at J&J. The role is required to ensure the hundreds of millions of dollars J&J spends annually paying for and implementing Supply Chain technology is spent wisely, is scalable and sustainable over time, and delivers the relevant Supply Chain business cases for J&J. The incumbent will be a combination of city planner and public works engineer who make sure the technology plan makes sense, meets the business objectives, can be built, and will run efficiently.

The Supply Chain Architect and Software Engineer will be the chief technologist responsible for the technical direction for Supply Chain significant programs (including our S/4HANA ERP transformation program) relying on the product lines they are supporting. This will require significant depth of expertise in a broad array of technologies and processes supporting the Supply Chain capabilities and as needed, adjacent processes in corporate and commercial.

As part of this role, it will not be enough to be just a technologist. An effective facilitator is needed to arbitrate discussions between many different stakeholders to arrive at a technology decision and then explain that decision to many other stakeholders who want to know how and why it was made.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

- Develop Supply Chain architecture patterns and vision, and maintain architecture decision records
- Develop Supply Chain reference architecture / Software Engineering with Technology Services and/or vendor(s)
- Work with related teams to develop appropriate integration, data architecture and engineering
- Develop and operate Product Line architecture, roadmap & governance in their scope, and provide inputs for investment strategy
- Develop business capability model and technology mapping
- Talent development for indirect reports who are developing architecture and engineering output at the RDE SCT leader’s direction

**Qualifications**
Required Education**: Bachelor’s Degree

**Required Related Experience**:

- 10 Years of experience in Supply Chain, Architecture, System Integration and Software Development
- Implementation experience with multi-cloud, mobile, containers, servers and database management
- ITIL experience
- 5 Years of People Management Experience

**Preferred Education and Experience**:

- Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in field of Computer Science
- Experience in Supply Chain, Consumer Product Goods, Life Sciences or related industry
- Working knowledge of SAP BTP, SAP S/4 HANA; Mulesoft; SCOR, AGILE, DevOps - CI/CD
