**Procurement Category Manager (Strategic Buyer) 100%**

**Your contribution**

In this challenging and important role, you are responsible for specific direct material categories. You maintain the supplier portfolio and develop the category strategies to find the best-fit suppliers and ensure cost-effective material availability for production in Switzerland, Austria and USA. You are the go-to person when it comes to suppliers’ consolidation in order to leverage savings potential, establish economies of scale and build long-term relationships. The management of a global commodity category sits with you including the guidance for purchasing volumes.
- Procurement market research through analysis of the potential supplier market and classification of potential suppliers.
- Establishment and maintenance of global material categories; further development of suppliers and category strategies.
- Supplier evaluation and development according to procurement strategy.
- Development and implementation of the procurement strategy for the assigned suppliers and categories.
- Identification and implementation of potential cost savings.
- Suppliers risk management.
- Negotiation of contracts accordingly to company’s regulations.
- Contact person for procurement-related questions to upstream and downstream departments.
- Advising project purchasing and R&D on the allocation of parts and assemblies to the most suitable suppliers.
- Ensuring and continuously developing the efficient handling of procurement and logistics processes.
- Ensuring the availability of all materials and development of the supplier base in the event of changes in demand.

**Your background**

- Technical education plus further trainings in the field of Category Management / Strategic Procurement.
- Prior work experience in in the area of Category Management / Strategic Procurement within a technical industrial corporation.
- Solid understanding and technical knowledge in the area of mechanical or electronic components & assemblies is a major asset.
- Fluent German and English, both written and spoken.
- Very good knowledge of the national and international supplier market.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Good SAP R/3 and MS Office knowledge.
