About the Role

The Healthcare Businesswomen's Association is seeking a seasoned patent professional to serve as an Intellectual Property Counselor. As a key member of our team, you will provide strategic guidance on IP protection, manage patent portfolios, and navigate complex global patent law.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expert counsel on patent strategies, IP protection, and global patent law.

  • Manage patent portfolios, including identifying inventions, preparing and prosecuting patent filings, and maintaining existing patents.

  • Develop and implement comprehensive IP plans to protect client inventions and secure IP positions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate IP support into business decisions.

  • Build and maintain relationships with external partners, including outside counsel and collaborators.

  • Conduct due diligence assessments and provide counsel on FTO, infringement, and validity analyses.

Requirements:

  • Advanced degree in a relevant field, such as chemistry or law.

  • Registration to practice before the European Patent Office.

  • Strong scientific background in chemical sciences, preferably including direct lab experience.

  • Expertise in European and PCT law, filing process, and prosecution practice.

  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Strong analytical, presentation, and communication skills.
