Senior Banking Executive

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategic recommendations to senior management on the direction of the Swiss operation, ensuring timely updates and key issue notifications.
  • Provide guidance to local country management on overall management, operations, and business development, focusing on cost-efficient measures and client-centric excellence.
  • Administer all departments of the Swiss operation, ensuring performance, efficiency, resourcing, and compliance adherence, with contingency plans in place for operation continuity.
  • Drive the growth of domestic Commercial Banking, Trade Finance, and Institutional Banking businesses, establishing and nurturing client relationships, developing new business, and promoting credit facilities.
  • Support the Head of Wealth Management in managing the Private Banking business, its clients, services, and performance.
  • Maintain key business limits and authorities, including facility, expenditure, Treasury, and IT access rights.
  • Offer strategic guidance on policies and procedures to ensure smooth, efficient, and effective controls, monitoring compliance with organizational regulations and directives.
  • Ensure Credit and Risk management governance, particularly in credit assessments and security documentation, chairing and participating in governance meetings and projects as required.
  • Develop and implement Switzerland's Annual Financial Plan and Budget, providing timely and accurate financial information to senior management.

Experience and Skills:

  • 15+ years of relevant banking experience, with 10+ years in a Swiss banking role, preferably leading a branch or small bank with international activities.
  • Knowledge and experience in Private Banking, Commercial Banking, Financial Institutions, Trade Finance, Operations, and general banking.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements and financial instruments within a Swiss banking framework.
  • Experience in financial planning, budgeting, validation, and control.
  • Proficiency in English (essential) and German (preferable).
