The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works globally to provide humanitarian assistance and promote respect for international humanitarian law. We take action in response to emergencies and coordinate with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to ensure a rapid and effective response.

About This Opportunity

We are looking for a skilled International Public Affairs Officer to contribute to our global communication efforts. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with management and other departments to ensure effective communication and representation of the ICRC externally.

Your Key Responsibilities
  • Contribute to defining public affairs objectives, strategies, and plans in line with our priorities and global strategy.
  • Implement relevant public affairs activities and develop tools for operational communication, community engagement, and promoting international humanitarian law.
  • Support public and digital communication, information analysis, and interaction with stakeholders.
  • Represent the ICRC externally and build understanding and acceptance among key stakeholders.
Your Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a relevant field such as communications, political science, or journalism.
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to link perception, acceptance issues, and communication activities.
  • Digital literacy and proficiency in MS Office.
  • IHL knowledge is an asset.
  • Fluent English (C1 level) and professional level (B2) in an additional language used by the ICRC (French, Arabic, Spanish, Russian).
