Chef de Partie Role Overview

The Chef de Partie is a key member of our Galley team on our River vessels, responsible for preparing meals to the highest standards of quality and presentation in accordance with Viking River Cruises' standards and HACCP rules.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and serve daily meals for crew and guests, adhering to menu cycles and Executive Chef guidelines.
  • Order and manage stock in collaboration with the Executive Chef, ensuring accurate handling of products and equipment.
  • Maintain a clean working area, adhering to HACCP rules and company standards.
  • Conduct stock takes and inventory, establish par levels, and participate in loading processes.
  • Assist in opening and closing ships at the start and end of the season, and participate in onboard training programs.
  • Perform luggage duty on embarkation and disembarkation days, and provide assistance in other departments as required by supervisors.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in the hotel/catering industry or restaurants.
  • International experience or ship experience is an advantage.
  • Good command of English; fluency in other languages is an advantage.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize guest satisfaction.
  • Flexibility, stress resistance, team player, commitment, positive personality, and neat appearance.
