About the Role

The World Economic Forum is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to lead our urban innovation efforts. As an Urban Innovation Lead, you will be responsible for driving the development and implementation of place-based innovation challenges across the globe.

Main Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a global outreach strategy to identify and engage with cities interested in hosting a place-based innovation challenge.
  • Collaborate with cities to develop local coalitions capable of supporting the launch and implementation of a multi-year place-based innovation challenge.
  • Identify and secure partnerships with businesses and organizations to fund and support place-based innovation challenges.
  • Develop and implement a year-round programme of activities to cultivate and grow a community of pioneer cities.
  • Lead Steering Committee meetings to provide updates to key stakeholders on progress of pioneer cities.

Requirements and Experience

  • Master's degree in urban development, urban planning, sustainable development, public policy, public administration, business or related field.
  • 7+ years of professional experience working on urban issues and/or the development of innovation ecosystems.
  • Track record of successful business development and experience leading initiatives with local governments and/or working on public-private collaborations.
  • Hands-on experience developing and managing complex projects and communities.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills.
  • Domestic and international travel required.
