Cost Management Director for Construction Projects

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Cost Management Director to join our team at Turner & Townsend. As a key member of our construction cost management team, you will be responsible for delivering complex construction projects and acting as the primary interface with our clients. Your expertise will drive projects to achieve exceptional outcomes, ensuring timely and accurate cost management.
Responsibilities
- Provide cost planning and estimating services, including the production and presentation of final estimates.
- Estimate costs at conceptual, programming, and detailed levels.
- Compile feasibility studies.
- Prepare procurement reports.
- Manage all aspects of procurement, including pre-qualification, tender analysis, and contractual document compilation.
- Oversee post-contract cost variances and change control processes.
- Manage cost checks and valuation deliverables on large projects.
- Produce monthly cost reports for clients.
- Lead value engineering initiatives and negotiate final accounts.
- Maintain liaison with clients and other consultants throughout project stages.
- Lead and manage cost management teams, ensuring the delivery of appointed services.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities.
- Improve cost management procedures, templates, and products.
Requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years' experience in cost management, preferably leading cost management commissions for large, complex construction projects.
- Good knowledge of construction industry technical matters, such as procurement routes, value management, and value engineering.
- Prior people management experience, particularly in managing teams delivering projects.
- Sound technical expertise in pre-contract, post-contract, and final account cost management areas.
- Good understanding of mechanical, process, electrical, and plumbing systems, as well as civils, structural, and architectural aspects relevant to construction projects.
- Experience in the Swiss construction industry with knowledge of contractual documentation is advantageous.
- Excellent English language skills; fluent German and/or French language skills are preferred.
- Demonstrates exceptional presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Sound organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and work effectively as part of a team.
- Proficient working knowledge of MS Office software and modern cost management digital tools.
