Cost Manager Role Overview
We are seeking experienced professionals to take on the role of Cost Manager at Turner & Townsend. In this position, you will be responsible for managing costs and commercial activities on major construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-contract duties including cost estimation, procurement, and tendering
- Contract administration, variation, and final account management
- Feasibility studies and procurement report writing
- Cost planning and estimation, including producing and presenting the final cost plan
- Tendering and procurement activity, including pre-qualification, tender analysis, and contractual document compilation
- Timely and accurate cost checks and valuations
- Monthly post-contract cost reporting and presentation to clients
- Interfacing with clients and consultants at all project stages
- Post-contract cost variance analysis and change control process participation
- Cost risk analysis and input into value engineering, with negotiation and approval of final accounts
- Maintaining central feedback and learning on cost estimating from prospects and projects, contributing to the update of best practices in estimating
Requirements:
- Technical knowledge of data centre or other related facility asset types
- Good knowledge of all methods of construction and procurement
- Experience with multiple estimating tools and applications, or managing a team that uses them
- Strong experience with spreadsheets and databases
- Collaborative approach, with the ability to develop strong relationships with clients and stakeholders
- Good organization skills, with the ability to multi-task
- Demonstrated strong listening and communication skills
- Proven cost and/or commercial management experience, ideally within a consultancy environment
- German language skills are advantageous
