Controller Research Specialist

About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated Senior Controller Research and Development for our Finance department.
Your Tasks
- Lead the budgeting and forecasting process for assigned projects and areas in close cooperation with Department Heads, Project Leads, Cost Center Heads, and key stakeholders.
- Coordinate budgeting and forecasting events: prepare planning tools and support business in the budget process.
- Collect, record, and check data in SAC and SAP, support data consolidation throughout the company, liaise with Project Leads and Cost Center Heads.
- Monthly closing: run and manage cost assessment cycles; SAC updates. Create and support group reports and management presentations; create reporting packages for Cost Center Heads, Department Heads, and Project Leads. Perform deviation analysis and data reconciliation.
- Provide value-added input to the Monthly Financial Report with insight analysis explaining variances between Actuals and Budget.
- Support the accrual process for assigned cost centers and projects.
- Liaise and coordinate with Procurement on the financial aspects of service contracts and work orders to ensure financial commitments of contracts are correctly reflected into the planning cycles.
- Review and approve invoices and corresponding accounting vouchers.
- Perform payment runs.
- Represent Finance in project review meetings and, in coordination with Project Leads, ensure that project costs are tracked accurately.
- Deputize members of the Controlling team on an as-needed basis.
Your Profile
- University or equivalent degree in Finance, Controlling, or Business Administration.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, preferably experience with Research & Development projects.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment with a high level of integrity.
- Well-organized and structured with excellent analytical skills and attention to detail, keeping an overview and good capacity to prioritize well.
- Sound user knowledge of SAP (SAP FI/CO, MM, PP, SD).
- Proactive personality with excellent communication skills at different levels.
- Very good language skills, fluent in English, spoken and written, any other language is considered beneficial.
