About the Role

Abbott, a global healthcare leader, is seeking a highly skilled professional to lead its tender management efforts. As the Global Head of Tender Management, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize tender readiness and improve win/loss ratios.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute tender management strategies across all therapeutic areas, ensuring alignment with global guidance and 'play to win' strategy.
  • Lead the development of tender playbooks, providing clear recommendations to the business on tender management and planning.
  • Design and implement innovative strategies to accelerate product access in the tender channel, including alternative payment methodologies and value-based agreements.
  • Develop and launch tender management systems in key tender markets, ensuring compliance with global pricing guidance.
  • Analyze and prioritize tenders across all geographies, identifying opportunities for growth and optimization.
  • Develop and implement tender pricing strategies, including price threshold matrices and competitor analysis.
  • Provide deep dive tender data analysis, including predictive analytics, to inform business decisions.
  • Optimize top-line revenue in the tender business, identifying growth drivers and providing recommendations to regional heads and GMs.
  • Develop and launch tender management dashboards for senior executive teams, providing real-time insights into tender performance.
  • Establish and maintain tender databases, analyzing data to inform business decisions and provide analytic reports to senior executive committees.
Requirements
  • Master's degree in economics, health economics, public health, health services research, or business analytics required; PhD preferred.
  • Prior experience in regional or global tender management leadership, with a strong understanding of access strategies development for biologics and/or biosimilars.
  • High-level negotiation skills and experience working with tenders and framework agreements.
  • Demonstrated experience leading GTM office efforts and pricing in emerging markets.
  • Strong understanding of emerging markets healthcare systems and financing mechanisms.
