Leading FI Coverage Team Director

ING Wholesale Banking is seeking a seasoned professional to drive growth in the Financial Institutions Coverage Team in Switzerland. As Head of FI Switzerland, you will be responsible for steering and expanding this team, established in April 2022. You will report to the local Zurich office Manager and functionally to the Head of FI EMEA.

About the Role

The ideal candidate has a strong commercial drive, understanding of FI clients, products, and dynamics, good non-financial risk knowledge, and strong analytical skills. This role involves executing a commercial plan, identifying new opportunities, and managing a team in close relation with hierarchical and functional reporting lines.

Main Responsibilities

  • Head of FI Switzerland, full responsibility for FI Switzerland activities, member of WB Switzerland management team.
  • Manage a team in close relation with hierarchical as well as functional reporting lines.
  • Execute FI growth plan and identify new strategic opportunities to improve business performance.
  • PAM and LAM responsibility for Swiss clients including 1st line of defence responsibilities (including KYC, alert handling, managing potential client exits).
  • Ensure that the business operates with an acceptable risk tolerance and adheres to regulatory parameters.
  • Develop and coordinate knowledge sharing and foster a culture of collaboration, client focus, continuous improvement, and innovation.
  • Actively contribute to the development and implementation of the overall business and people strategy and ING business principles including ING's Orange Code.
  • Ensure a culture of inclusiveness.

Your Profile and Required Qualifications

  • A hands-on leader with strong commercial drive able to manage results-driven sales teams.
  • A self-starter with a disciplined approach and result-oriented mindset.
  • Knowledge of Financial Institutions and a vision on sub-sectors.
  • Good credit experience, as well as knowledge of TS, FM, and advisory products relevant to the FI client base.
  • A highly collaborative personality, strong team player, and ability to communicate effectively with clients, ING teams, and senior management.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Relevant KYC and compliance knowledge and experience.
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience.
  • English language skills, written as well as spoken. German and/or French language skills are also preferred.
