Regional Senior Legal Counsel for APAC Operations

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Counsel to provide strategic and operational legal support to our APAC commercial organization. This role will involve building trusted relationships with business leaders, developing a deep understanding of our business and its strategic plans, and providing first-chair legal support for commercial operations in the region.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing legal support and strategic counsel for our operations in the Asia-Pacific region, excluding Australia and New Zealand.
  • Supporting the negotiation, drafting, and execution of sales, distribution, marketing, licensing, and other contracts.
  • Reviewing and advising on advertising and promotional materials, as well as engagements with third-party stakeholders.
  • Advising on relevant pharmaceutical and other laws, regulations, and codes, including requirements for obtaining, maintaining, and renewing marketing authorizations and product licenses.
  • Providing corporate legal support for our operations in the region, including advice and legal / company secretarial support for group companies and the Vifor-Fresenius Kabi joint venture.
  • Managing disputes and litigation to protect our business interests in the region.
  • Providing legal support for employment matters, compliance matters, and other regional-specific issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree and J.D. or equivalent foreign degree.
  • Bar admission in Switzerland or permission to practice in-house.
  • Strong knowledge of one of the main Chinese languages.
  • 10+ years' international corporate or law firm legal experience.
  • 5 years' experience in the pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical device industry.
  • 5+ years' international experience for multi-jurisdictional regions.
  • Solid experience in tech ops support, supply and manufacturing agreements, and legal matters.
