Job Overview

The Sustainability Reporting Specialist is responsible for coordinating the annual corporate sustainability data collection, management, analysis, reporting, and assurance process for internal and external communication. The jobholder ensures compliance with emerging sustainability reporting standards and ESG-related regulations, such as the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and due diligence requirements. This role is also responsible for the elaboration of annual sustainability reports and ESG disclosures, as well as ESG reports to investors and financial institutions, responses to customer surveys, and ESG rating agency reports.

Main Responsibilities

  • Monitor the latest developments in sustainability reporting standards and ESG regulations to ensure alignment with reporting and overall ESG business compliance.
  • Define processes and mechanisms to anticipate and integrate relevant regulations within our business practices.
  • Conduct ESG peer benchmarking and gap analyses to identify opportunities to leverage reporting maturity and ratings to expected ambition.
  • Maintain metrics and support compliance related to SHL Group's sustainability commitments, standards, and reporting, such as the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC) and the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi).
  • Drive ESG-related reporting exercises to support annual sustainability reporting and responses to ESG questionnaires and rankings, such as the CDP and Ecovadis.
  • Develop and/or collect required supporting data and documentation for reporting requirements and manage internal or third-party validations and verification of sustainability data.
  • Develop and maintain documentation of processes and procedures around data collection and management.
  • Maintain and update sustainability messaging and data points to support customer requests, public presentations, and tradeshows.
  • Coordinate and establish a network of internal stakeholders cross-functionally to support the reporting exercise, data collection, and communication.
  • Develop an annual plan for SHL Group's community activities, including planning, stakeholder engagement, and creation of supporting materials and presentations.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in the field of sustainability, with at least 5 years of experience in non-financial reporting.
  • Solid knowledge of ESG reporting standards and regulations, including relevant training in the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI).
  • Proven experience in leading or contributing to global corporate reporting exercises based on GRI, CDP, and Ecovadis.
  • Solid knowledge of sustainability regulations, such as the EU's CSRD and due diligence requirements.
  • Experience in establishing data management reporting processes and tools.
  • Excellent written communication skills in English, with German as a plus.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
