Job Description

CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, invites applications for a Doctoral Student position in the Next Generation Trigger Project. This is a unique opportunity to work on your thesis while contributing to cutting-edge research in high-energy physics.

Key Responsibilities

As a Doctoral Student, you will work on the development of novel data selection strategies for the ATLAS and CMS experiments using AI techniques. You will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technologies, including CPUs, GPUs, and FPGAs.

Requirements

To be eligible for this position, you must meet the following requirements:

  • Be a national of a CERN Member State or a non-Member State from an Institute in the LHC experiments collaborations.
  • Have started or be about to start a doctoral programme in a university.
  • Have a good knowledge of English or French.

What We Offer

CERN will provide you with a contract of association for 6 months initially, renewable up to 3 years. You will receive an allowance of 3868 Swiss Francs per month (net of tax) and a travel allowance. Depending on your personal circumstances, you may also be eligible for a supplement if you are married and/or have children.
