Job Overview

The Compliance Officer is responsible for establishing standards and implementing procedures to ensure that compliance programs across the organization are effective in identifying, preventing, detecting, and addressing noncompliance with applicable laws and regulations. This role includes providing necessary training to various stakeholders to raise compliance awareness and advising executives on compliance-related matters. Additionally, the Compliance Officer will consolidate compliance tasks from different departments, including managing a whistleblower hotline, conducting monitoring, and leading investigations when necessary. The role also involves setting up structures and processes to ensure adherence to data privacy laws, as well as establishing and maintaining corporate risk management and data privacy policies.

Main Responsibilities

  • Responsible for creating and implementing an effective corporate compliance program. This includes the compliance with data protection regulations, antitrust and anti-bribery laws.
  • Interact with various functions within SHL Group for compliance-related topics.
  • Periodically revising the compliance plan in light of business needs/organizational changes.
  • Overseeing and monitoring the implementation of the compliance program.
  • Providing guidance, advice, and training on compliance issues.
  • Leading implementation of the whistleblower approach.
  • Providing strategic direction to Senior Management on compliance.
  • Preparing and presenting clear and concise compliance reports to the CEO and the Board.

Minimum Requirements

  • Minimum 5 to 10 years in compliance.
  • Data privacy experience.
  • Coordinating internal compliance review and monitoring activities, including periodic reviews of departments in collaboration with the relevant functions.
  • Monitoring external review processes.
  • Support the Company Management and the Board with corporate risk management system.
  • Act as data privacy officer, ensuring the adequate policies and processes are implemented to reflect local and international data protection laws and good practice.
  • Coordinate the activity with the regional and local point of contacts within the SHL Group.
  • Experience in risk management.
  • Mandatory English & German.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience preferably within the medical device or pharmaceutical industry.
  • You enjoy working with people from different departments, cultures, and hierarchy levels.
  • Fluent in Mandarin.

Relevant Qualification/Education and Training

  • A legal degree is a mandatory requirement for this role.
  • Compliance and Data privacy knowledge or accreditation.
